Terry Lynn Carpenter
Terry Lynn Carpenter, 65, passed away in Temple, TX on May 27, 2021 at the Olin E. Teague VA Medical Center. He lived all but the last 6 years of his life in Bossier Parish. At the time of his passing he resided in Bell County, Texas.
He was born in Bastrop, Louisiana, to Leroy and Christine Carpenter. He joined the Army at the age of 17 and served his country during the Vietnam War. After leaving the army, he worked as a security guard with various companies in the Shreveport/Bossier area until he retired and moved to Texas to be close to family.
Terry enjoyed dancing, fishing, being a part of the auxiliary officer program for Shreveport police department and working as a volunteer at the VA Medical Center. He will be emembered for his kindness towards others, and his willingness to always share what he had with his neighbors and friends.
Terry is survived by his brother Ken Carpenter and wife Vickie, niece Amanda Massey and husband Jonathan, and great nephew Nathan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Christine Aulds Carpenter, sister Peggy Stumbaugh, and niece Nikki.
Keeping with Terry’s giving spirit, his remains will be donated to the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Celebrate Terry’s life by donating to the Veteran organization of your choice.
