Starla Jean Hall
Starla Jean Hall, 58, of San Leon, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on April 29, 2021. She was born in Texas CIty, Texas on June 25, 1962 to Amy Loyce and James Kenneth Tipps.
She is survived by her husband John Hall. Other surviving family members include her daughter Terri Jo Colley and her husband Justin of Texarkana, AR, her son Matthew Burton and his wife Shelby of Saratoga Springs, UT, her son Jesse Burton and his beloved Tiffany of Houston, TX, her brother Michael Souza and his wife Brenda and her brother Denny Lowrey. She has two grandchildren that she was absolutely over the moon about, Brandon Burton and Kinleigh Burton.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Helen Scarbrough, her mother Amy Loyce Manis, and her brother Kenneth Tipps. A host of family members remain to mourn her loss including stepsisters Tammy, Essie, and Cat along with her uncle Howard Bobbitt and his wife Fran.
Her name Starla literally means "star" and much like the Northern Star she spent her entire life guiding her family as the one true constant to which they were all drawn to for direction and nurturing. Her life's work was in customer service where she always took the time to make everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world. We also want to mention her best friends which include Maureen McCabe, Pat Soucy and Karen Williams.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday May 4, 2021 from 9am to 11am at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas for a visitation. A celebration of life service will follow beginning at 11am. Those wishing to do so may share a memory, send the family a personal condolence or light a candle of remembrance here on Starla’s online obituary.
