Robert Michael Dee, Sr.
Robert (Robbie) M. Dee, Sr. passed away on January 20, 2019, at home in Texas City, Texas. Robbie was born October 28, 1955 in Houston, Texas to parents Richard and Peggy Dee. Robbie moved to Texas City during his elementary school years and graduated from Texas City High School. He then joined the Iron Workers Local Union #135 Galveston Apprenticeship Training Program in 1975 and graduated to Journeyman Iron Worker in 1978. Due to health issues, Robbie was unable to work as an ironworker and worked other less strenuous jobs until his health just wouldn’t allow it.
Robbie will be remembered for his love of his sports, especially the Houston Texans and watching westerns on television. He was always kind and friendly to everyone, but there were few exceptions.
Robbie was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; parents, Richard and Peggy and niece Tressa.
Robbie is survived by his son Robert M. Dee, Jr. (Kristen), grandsons Robbie and Kasen, step-daughter Sherri robins, step-grandchildren Kasi, Dillion, Nicole, Austin and Ashlee. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Saunders (Jim), brother John Dee (Theresa), Richard Dee (Jessica), Michael Dee (Jennifer), brother-in-law Randy Doss, nine step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
The graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery, 7301 Memorial St. in Hitchcock, Texas.
Robbie didn’t want to make a big to-do about his service so in lieu of flowers any donations should be made to your favorite charities.
