Richard Alvin Crowe, 79, of Katy, TX, left this world peacefully for his heavenly home on Thanksgiving morning.
Richard was born in Cushing, OK, on February 16, 1941.  He attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK and studied at Oklahoma State University.
Richard entered the Army and was assigned to the Honor Guard Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Infantry (The Old Guard), Ft. Meyers, Virginia. The Honor Guard is responsible for ceremonies and security missions in the nation’s capitol to include guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, conducting military funerals at Arlington National Cemetery and other functions for the President of the United States and foreign government officials.
Richard retired from the United States Postal Service in 2008.  He and Jan loved traveling, hiking, white water rafting, zip lining, testing out new restaurants and entertaining friends and family.
Richard is survived by his wife, Janice Carol Clark Crowe from Kevil, KY, and his children and their spouses:  Pamela Christine Crowe, Kevin Owen Crowe, Jennifer Ann Crowe Molhoek (Ryan), Jeffrey Harold Crowe (Tammy), Jeffrey Dean Thorpe (Robbin). He is also survived by four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous cousins.
Richard's wish was that his body be donated to the University of Texas Health Science Medical Center in Houston, Texas, for Alzheimers Research.
