Mark Allen Dawson
Mark was born in Hackensack, New Jersey. Lived and raised in Point Pleasant, New Jersey until moving to Texas in 1993. Due to the proximity of Galveston Bay he chose San Leon, Texas as his home where he continued to live with his wife and two children.
Growing up on the Jersey Shore, he became a lover of the sea. Sailing on the bay and ocean,was his passion.
He worked as a boatwright in Bay Head, New Jersey and continued his profession when moving to San Leon, where his expert workmanship at nautical carpentry was recognized.
Mark is survived by his wife, Yueping Pan, daughter Anna Mei, 14, son Charles, 11, mother Antoinette Corrigan of Huffman Texas, father Frederick A. Dawson of Jacksonville Florida, sister Teresa Maharaj and husband Michael Maharaj, brother, Frederick C. Dawson and wife Heidi Dawson of Toms River, N.J., sister Michelle Kane of Virginia Beach, Va., step-brothers Edmund Corrigan and wife Mary Corrigan of Prescott Valley , Arizona, Walter Corrigan and wife Lee Corrigan, of Seward, Alaska, David Corrigan and wife Nancy Corrigan of Toms River, N.J.
Dr. Frank Corrigan of Pinehurst N.C., Robert Corrigan and wife Laurie Corrigan of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, mother-in-law Guifang Liao of China, brothers-in-law, Shan Pan and wife Quiqing Deng, of China,
Ling Pan and wife Yinglian Meng of China, Min Pan and wife Li Fang of China,. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his stepfather Dr. Walter E. Corrigan, step-brother,John Corrigan, niece, Kathleen Corrigan, nephew, Michael Corrigan and nephew, Steven Corrigan.
Guests are invited to share in a Celebration of Life Visitation from 10-11:00 a.m., followed by 11:00 a.m. Memorial Services on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, TX 77591.
