Judith G Schmidt-Nutter
Judith ”Judi” Schmidt-Nutter, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She peacefully passed away in her home, on August 07, 2021, in Seabrook at age 60.
Judi was born to Arthur and Jeanie Schmidt on August 26, 1960, in Madison, Wisconsin. After high school, Judi moved to Florida with her daughter Jessica Mead. There she met her husband Gregory Nutter and his son, Gregory Nutter Jr, in Florida in 1987. Together, they had four children. Alicia, Lindsey, Amanda, and Lance. In 1990 they moved all of their kids to Texas to be entrepreneurs.
Until her health condition made it impossible, Judi dedicated her life's work to running the family business and taking care of her children. She went above and beyond in life when it came to her family. Being room mom, softball coach, attended every cheer practice are just a few things she selflessly did for us. Our mom was the strongest person, she taught us how to be fearless, to dream big, and to have courage.
Judi was suffering from cancer for the past 21 years; she fought until the very end. She was the person you call at 2 a.m. because you needed a chat; she loved midnight snacks, a good tan, romantic movies, and absolutely loved the beach. Judi was outgoing and fun; she was more than our mom, she was our best friend, and she will be missed dearly.
Judi is survived, by her husband Gregory Nutter; daughters Jessica Mead, Alicia Chretien, Lindsey Wong, and Amanda Carothers; sons Gregory Nutter Jr and Lance Nutter; grandkids Abby Carothers, Isabella, and Jaxson Mead, and Mia and Emily Nutter. She is also survived, by her sister, Barbara Reed, and nieces, Cori and Jamie Reed.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. and the funeral service to follow at 5:30 p.m. at the Carnes Funeral Home-Texas City 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City, TX 77591 (409) 986-9900
