Dr. Lakeesha P. Norton
Dr. Lakeesha P. Norton, 50, passed away on August 25, 2021, at her residence in the loving care of her daughter, Braneesha Bentley. She's not only the former wife of Al Tooks, but they were also the best of friends. They shared 14+ years and many experiences and travelled many journeys together.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Eula Mae and Lawrence Norton Sr. As a natural born scholar, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from UTMB with a doctorate in Nursing Philosophy back in 2015. Her area of expertise was focusing on reducing Nursing Home Administrator turnover rates to improve the quality of long-term geriatric care. While working for many corporate jobs, she became CEO and founder of Home Health Experts of Texas (Home Health Agency) and developed an online educational services program for Nursing Home Administrators.
Dr. Lakeesha was a God-fearing Seventh Day Adventist woman and a lovely member of Gulfhaven SDA church in Houston, TX. She loved praying for others and testifying to God's goodness in her life. She was a very charitable person donating to various charities and organizations. She loved taking spiritual walks and spending time with God and talking to Him. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, meeting new people as she was a beautiful social butterfly. Her bubbly and giving spirit will forever be missed.
She is survived by ex-husband, Al Tooks, daughter, Braneesha Bentley, and oldest brother, Lawrence Norton Jr., brother, Lamont Norton, brother, Lawone Norton, brother John Norton, brother William Devine, and only sister, Shamae Norton, and pet, Bentley.
The funeral service will be held on September 10, 2021, at 10:00am at 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591 with interment at the Rising Star cemetery, La Marque, TX. The viewing/ visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12pm, the time of the service.
