Dickinson, Texas _ Alton Farmerwas born on June 2, 1935 in Brenham, TX, to the late Robert Jr, and Edna Earl Jameson Farmer.
He left this earth peacefully to be with the Lord on June 2, 2021. He passed away at his home surrounded by family at the age of 86.
Alton graduated from Dunbar High School, Dickinson, TX. He was employed at Southwest Plastic and Chemical for 28 years. He also was an employee at Bayshore Industry as a chemical operator until retirement.
Alton and Peggy Peterson Farmer were united in marriage 58 years. To this union four children were born.
Alton accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age in Brenham, TX. Alton served as a deacon at Mt. Carmel MBC, ordained by the late Pastor Charlie Foy. He continued to serve as a Deacon under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Lewis D. Little Sr., until God called him home.
Alton is preceded in death by his parents Robert Farmer, Jr. and Edna Earl Jameson Farmer. Siblings: Lois Belser, Aretha Jackson, Berniece Boudreaux, Taylor Farmer, Mack Lewis Farmer, Charles Wilbur Farmer.
He leaves to cherish his memories, His wife, Peggy Peterson Farmer. Sons: Kalvin Earl Simmons ( Sharon), Brett Keenan Farmer, Craig Kenneth Earl Farmer, Alton Kiplin Farmer (Brenda); Daughter; Malinda Rochele Farmer. Thirteen Grandchildren,
Twelve great grandchildren. Sister-in-laws; Lonnie Nell Peterson DeVault, Linda Cheryl Peterson, Denise Farmer, Carolyn Farmer, Jacquelyn Peterson. Brother-in-laws; Rev. Christopher Peterson, Walter Jackson, Renel Boudreaux, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be a public visitation held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 9am with a church service to begin at 11am. Services will be held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church located at 2920 TX-3, Dickinson, Texas 77539. Burial to follow at Forest Park East.
