Albert F. Rayl
Albert F. Rayl, 82, of Pasadena, Texas died at his residence with his beloved Mary Bauer at his side.
Albert was a professional photographer and big dreamer. He was in the US Army stationed at Kagnew Station in Ethiopia. He served in the Army Security Agency as a photographer. He was able to photograph Haile Selassie, King of Ethiopia, many dignitaries and the Crown Jewels. While in Africa he was an avid hunter and went on many safaris in Kenya and Sudan. After serving in the Army he continued as photographer, opened his photo lab and later a custom framing shop. Later in life he authored several books.
He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Albert was the son of the late Harold and Mary Susan Rayl. Albert was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Gritton.
Surviving are his brother, Jim Rayl. Five daughters: Janice Rayl, Mary Beth Sisk, Laura and husband Michael Bucknam from his first marriage to Joy. Karen Toonen and Lesley Saunders from his third marriage to Sheila. There are many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-children and great-grand children. He is also survived by his beloved “Sweetie” Mary Bauer.
Funeral services and burial will be private at a Veterans cemetery.
