Wayne Edwin Edinburgh
Wayne Edwin Edinburgh, 78, of Livingston, TX passed away on Sunday, September 14th.
Mr. Edinburgh was born in Texas City, TX on February 1, 1936, the son of Rose Francis and Henry Edinburgh. He was the great-great grandson of Christopher Columbus Edinburgh, an early settler of Walker County and participant in the battle of San Jacinto which secured Texas independence. Wayne attended Kirwin Catholic High School in Galveston and graduated from Texas City High School in 1954.
Mr. Edinburgh married Ella Wohleb in 1959. He also served in the US Air Force and Air Force Reserves, then as a Court Clerk for the City of Texas City until 1966. He resided in Texas City with his family until retirement from AMOCO Chemicals in 1991. He then moved to Walker County.
Mr. Edinburgh was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William Edinburgh of Houston, and his son, John Edinburgh of Texas City.
Survivors include Pamela Edinburgh of Livingston; Ella Edinburgh, the mother of his children; two sons, Lewis Edinburgh and wife Donna of Waco, Paul Edinburgh and wife Kellie of Santa Fe; and a daughter, Cecilia Stevens and husband Kenneth of Conroe; Nolan Fisher of Delphos, OH and April Talbott of Colonial Heights, VA. He is also survived by two brothers, Donald Edinburgh and wife Patricia of Dallas, and Michael Edinburgh of Montgomery County; and a sister, Carole Cooper and husband Jerry of College Station; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City, Tuesday September 16th from 5 – 7 pm followed by a Rosary at 7 pm. A Requiem Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. on Wednesday 17th at Queen of Angels Roman Catholic Church, in Dickinson, TX. Interment will be at 3 pm in the Falba Cemetery, North Walker County, on FM 2989.
