Walt, Travis, Daddy, Brother, Gramps, Grandpa Travis – as he was known by many names and loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He loved life to the fullest and his family and friends were his top priority.Walt was raised in East Houston and attended Milby High School before moving to Pasadena and graduating from Pasadena High School in 1952. He served in the USAF during the Korean War. He raised his family in Pasadena and worked for Ethyl/Albermarle Corp for 30 years before retiring in 1996. He served on the Board of Directors of San Jacinto Area Credit Union in Pasadena for 27 years.
After retirement, he and Jean had the pleasure of RVing with friends all over the country. They enjoyed traveling with family to Europe, Mexico, Colorado, California, New England and New York making many great life long memories for his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Whether we were BBQing or celebrating birthdays or holidays he just wanted to make memories with his family. He loved being outdoors. In his younger years, the family spent time fishing at their bay house in Galveston. Later, golf became his favorite, most frustrating hobby, but he loved to be on the golf course with his family and friends. His golf goal was to score his age…he accomplished that at age 77.
His love of life was contagious and if you knew him, you loved him. He will be in our hearts forever.
Our family would like to thank our many family and friends for their prayers and support during this time. We would like to also thank Odyssey Hospice for their compassionate care of our husband and father.
