Victor Semmes Patton Jr.
Victor Semmes Patton, Jr. was born on November 6, 1931 in Beaumont, Texas. He passed away on June 27, 2020 in Spring, Texas. He lived in Beaumont until around his teenage years when his Dad enlisted in the Service. He then moved with his mother to the Dallas, Texas area. He graduated from Adamson High School in 1949. After the birth of his son, Gary Reilly Patton, he went to work for the United States Post Office and was there for 11 years. After leaving the US Post Office he relocated to the San Antonio area. Eventually he landed a job with Bostitch Staple Company where he served as District Manager for Southeast Texas. He retired from Bostitch after 20 years of service and several Top Sales awards.
In 1981 he married Shirley Anne Carnes in Houston, Texas and because of that union he became a step father to Shirley’s five children.
He was preceded in death by his parents Victor S. Patton, Sr. and Elsie Mae Cantrell Patton and his great-granddaughter, Alice Rose Gregersen.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Anne Patton, of Conroe, Texas, his son, Gary Reilly Patton, of Dallas, Texas, step children, Cheryl Carnes and partner MaryAnne Kirk of Henderson, Texas, Jerry Carnes, Jr and wife Donna, Damon, Texas, Judy Koumonduros and husband Ted, Conroe, Texas, Charles Carnes and wife, Noe, Houston, Texas, and Kim Kingsbury and husband Doug, Spring, Texas. He also is survived by his grandchildren, Heather Carnes Falcon and husband, Clay, of Bartersville, Oklahoma, Jennifer Carnes Miller and husband Todd, of Austin, Texas, Traci Carnes Gregersen and husband John, Cypress, Texas, Nathan Steinberg and wife, Kelsey of Malin, Oregon, Kristin Carnes Mathems and husband Jonathan, of Damon, Texas, Jason Jetton and wife Ali, of Spring, Texas, Jamie Jetton and partner Stephania Cruz, of Houston, Texas, Anthony Patton of Frisco, Texas, Taylor Brooke Koumonduros of Conroe, Texas, Ty John Koumonduros of Conroe, Texas and Katelyn Kingsbury of Spring, Texas. He also is survived by 10 Great-Grandchildren.
He joined First Assembly of God Conroe in 1982. He loved the Lord, with all of his heart and soul! There was nothing more important to him than seeing souls being saved. That became his purpose in life. He was a Sunday-School teacher for an adult class however, he began teaching Evangelism Explosion and was so committed to EE that he gave his Sunday-School class to Shirley. In EE he made life-long friends.
He loved to dance, play tennis, golf, and fish! He loved the Lord and church. He loved winning soles for Christ. As he lay on his death bed, his last prayer was, “Lord, take me home, please hurry.” He then passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus Christ.
Pallbearers are Nathan Steinberg, Jason Jetton, Ty Koumonduros, Trevor Schafer, Chris Sanchez and Jimmy Stockton. Honorary Pallbearers are Ted Koumonduros, Carlos Gonzalez, Charles Moran.
Services are being held at Conroe First Assembly of God, 3993 I-45 North, Conroe, Texas 77304. Visitation will be Thursday, July 2nd from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 3rd at 11am with a lunch to follow. Interment will be private at the family’s request.
