Victor Salas Sr.
Victor Salas, Sr., 74, passed away October 23, 2012, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Victor leaves to cherish his memories, his sons, Ken Salas (wife, Laura) and Victor Salas, Jr. (wife, Delon); daughters, Eva Fernandez (husband, Adam), Christina Glisson (husband, Michael), Laurie Van Houten (husband, Max Jr.), Sherri Zachary, and Cynthia Dotson (husband, Malcolm); thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his loss, his two ex-wives who were faithful caregivers in the end, Carol Judd and Lupe Taylor; his three brothers, Benito Salas II, Alexander Salas, and Jacinto Salas and three sisters, Beatrice Gonzales, Frances Salas and Helena Caviston. He was preceded in death by Benito Salas, Sr., father and Gumesinda Salas, Mother.
Victor graduated from Ball High School as Valedictorian and proudly served in the United States Army. He was retired from BP Amoco Oil, Texas City, TX, where he formed many friendships. Victor loved to spend time with his family, playing pool, dancing and watching football, especially his Dallas Cowboys.
Victor was a wonderful son, caring father and beloved brother.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591 on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at 10:00 a.m.
