Vickie Dawsey Arthurs - was born October 4, 1961 in Galveston, TX to Emma Lou Dawsey & Leonard Elmo Dawsey. Vickie leaves cherished memories with her sister, Yvette Dixie Cranson; brother, Christopher Wayne Dawsey; son, Jarret & Angela Dawsey and their children, Jarret II, Brycen Ravion, Tristan, Grayson; son, Pastor Jarrod & Misty Dawsey and their children, Josiah, Priscilla, Alyssa & Joshua; daughter, Jessica and James Adams and their child, James Adams II; also her best friends, Kathy Cunningham & Family and Linda Sam & Family. There are also many relatives and friends that share her memory.
Vickie was raised in La Marque, TX. Chapel Church of God in Christ. During her marriage she moved her service to New Hope Bible Church in La Marque, TX. Serving most recent as an active member of Bethel Evangelistic Church in Dickinson, TX. Where she served as head of the Hospitality Ministry. Vickie graduated from La Marque High School Class of 1980- she attended College of the Mainland obtaining her Associates of Applies Science in Computer Technology & Associates of Early Childhood Development with emphasis in Infant/Toddler & Pre-Kindergarten Development. Vickie owned and operated “Cooper’s Bar-B-Que in La Marque TX for 20 years – She was known for her Great Homemade Links- Delicious Homemade Bar-B-Que Sauce. Vickie offered personal attention to each of her customers inspiring smiles and full stomachs. Vickie retired as the Child Care Director of Excellence Academy in Dickinson, TX after 10 years of service.
A Public Visitation will be held Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM followed by A Celebration of Her Life at 11:00 AM. Both Services will be at Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City, TX 77591. Burial Will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery Webster, TX 77598. Memorials may be sent to the Funeral Home.
