Uylice Joseph Rougeau
UYLICE JOSEPH ROUGEAU of Texas City, Texas was born on March 9, 1943 in Basile, LA to Dubisson and Beatice Rougeau. On Saturday, January 7, 2012, he departed this life to be with the Lord in Galveston, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Odelia Victorian, Davis "Billy" Rougeau, Lawrence "Black" Rougeaux, Sybia Harris, Judy Williams and James "Jimmy" Rougeaux.
Rouge never met a person that walked away a stranger. Oh how he loved a good Zydeco dance and he could dance all night and was very good at the dance. Fishing was a daily joy for him, and he also loved to cook. He will be remembered for his very funny sense of humor. He enjoyed his work and activities with the church.
Uylice came to Texas as a young man, worked various jobs until his employment with Sherman/Williams, where it was featured in TIME Magazine. After retiring for Sherman/Williams he returned to Lake Charles, LA. Working for PPG Industries for 23 years, then returned to Texas City, TX.
Mr. Ulyice Joseph Rougeau leaves precious memories of 34 years of a wonderful marriage with his wife, Sandra Thompson Rougeau; children: Stevie L. Spikes (Julie), Gregory Spikes, Katherine Rougeau, Wendell Rougeau (Angela), and Roy Holmes IV; Grandchildren: Quintan Milliner, Pricilla Milliner, Amaya Rougeau, Aylice Rougeau, Amia Bellard; siblings: Hurris Rougeau (Louise); Marie Rougeau, and Ruthie Rougeau and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Public Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 5PM to 8 PM. The Rosary will be recited at 7PM. Both services will be held at Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591 Funeral Mass will be Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10AM at QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1224 Cedar La Marque, TX with Father Chacko will be the Celebrant. Inhumation will immediately follow at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, TX.
