Tony Andres

Tony Glen Andres, Sr. departed this life on April 15, 2014.  He was born to the late Danris Andres and Leona Andres in La Marque, Texas.  He graduated from La Marque High School in 1977 where he thoroughly enjoyed playing his tuba in the band.  Tony went on further his education at La Mar University, only to return home to his high school sweetheart, Jacqueline Tidwell.  In June 1979, he married his high school sweetheart, Jackie and to this union of 34 years and 10 months, 3 children were born.  Tony worked hard and was dedicated at AT&T for 32 years, providing the best life he could for his family.  He retired in May 2010.  Tony was the life of the party.  He enjoyed nothing more than being among family and friends, telling and listening to jokes.  He enjoyed Zydeco music to the utmost.  He couldn’t wait for he and his wife to cut the rug, dancing to their hearts content at the many wedding receptions and family reunions. 

Tony was a member of Greater Saint Matthews Baptist Church as was recently inducted as a Support Warrior and was a member of the Mighty Men Choir.  His sweet memory will forever be imprinted in the hearts of his dear family and church family.  He will truly be missed by those who loved him. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Danris Andres.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Jacqueline Andres; their 3 loving children, Chelsie (Gerald) Lindsey, Jr., Tony (Erica) Andres, Jr.,  and Brittany (Anthony) Hills; grandchildren, Carson Lindsey, Alana Lindsey, Alaya Andres, Dylan Lindsey, Bailey Lindsey, Elin Lindsey, Christelle Andres, Tristan Hills, and Tylin Hills; mother, Leona Andres ; siblings, Carolyn (Leroy) Williams,  Sherry Poullard,  Brian (Kyba) Andres, and Amanda Martinez; step-sister Delores Robinson; god-children, Brandi Sonnier, Warrington Goudeau, and Brandon Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, very large number of cousins and friends. 

The family will receive guest for the Public Visitation Friday, April 25, 2014 beginning at 6:00 PM.  The Rosary will commence at 7:00 PM followed by a time to pay Tribute and Remember Tony at 7:30PM.  These services will be held at Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City, TX 77591.  The Life Celebration will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church 6333 Hwy 6 Hitchcock, TX 77563.  The burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery Hitchcock, TX. The Reverend William L. Randall, Jr. will conduct the services.  Dorthea Lewis Jones is the Funeral Director and memorials may be sent to Carnes Funeral Home.
