Tommie Mae Perkins
On February 25, 1946, in Marshall, TX, Tommie & Revorda Mae Perkins were blessed with their second child, a daughter, who was named Tommie Mae Perkins. Known to her loved ones as ‘Red,’ Tommie was raised in Hitchcock, TX. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 19, 2013.
Tommie continued to meet many people, made new friends and assisted her community while she worked in the classified Department of the Texas City Sun and Galveston Daily News. She was a dedicated employee to the local newspaper industry for over 30 years.
Tommie Perkins Davis, a devoted wife, loving mother, dear sister, special sister in law, niece, cousin and friend, continued to show her concern for others until her very last breath. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother and father and brother, John Earl Perkins.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 48 years, Oscar Davis; three sons, Dennis, Kevin, & James, one daughter, Kimberly; uncle, Johnnie Perkins; aunt, Claudie V. Harper; brothers, Earnest Perkins, Roger(Hulene) Perkins, Floyd (Jacqueline) Perkins, Larry Jarmon; sisters, Willie Mae Turner, Claudine Oliver, and Inez (Rudolph) Goffney; eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of relatives, neighbors and friends.
Funeral Services are being held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10:00am at Greater St Matthews Baptist Church 6333 Hwy 6 Hitchcock, TX 77563. Reverend William Randall, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mainland Memorial Cemetery, Hitchcock, TX. Memorials may be sent to the Funeral Home.
