Teresa D. Moreno
Teresa De La O Moreno, 70, of Texas City, Texas (formerly of Carlsbad, New Mexico) passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, August 9th, 2016.
Teresa was born on February 12, 1946 in Monahans, TX. She graduated in 1964 & moved to Carlsbad, NM, where she met the love of her life, Ernest. They were married on November 25, 1967 & resided there until moving to Texas City in 2001. Teresa was a very talented & devoted home maker, making at least 3 meals a day, chaperoning field trips, organizing class parties, & transporting numerous children to sporting events. Her great joys in life were watching her kids & grandkids play sports, having her family over for game nights, fishing, reading, going to church, & any activity that involved her family. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior in 1971 & became a faithful servant of God. She devoted countless hours to daily devotionals & bible studies. She also enjoyed volunteering with various charities. Teresa touched many lives through her sweet character, unending prayers, & sense of humor.
Teresa is predeceased by her parents, Manuel & Jesusita De La O; sister, Elena Lozano; 3 brothers; Sister-In-Law, Oralia Hinojos; Brother-In-Law, Max Calderon; Mother-In-Law & Father-In-Law, Anita & Geronimo Moreno.
She is survived by her loving & devoted husband of 49 years, Ernest Moreno; Daughters Christine Ramirez (Julio Ramirez) of Texas City & Carol Fairchild (Kyle Steger) of League City; Grandchildren, Julio Ramirez III & Patrick Ramirez of Texas City, Melanie & Payton Fairchild of League City (their father, David Fairchild); Sister-In-Law, Connie Calderon of Carlsbad, NM; Brothers-In-Law, Luis Moreno & Eloy Moreno of Carlsbad, NM; Honorary Grandchildren, Joey, Roberta, & Erica Martinez of Galveston; Honorary Great-grandchildren, Angelo Martinez and Aubrey Shives; numerous cousins, nieces & nephews, & her extended softball family – Softball Junkies & The Lunatics.
She will be greatly missed & forever in our hearts & memories. May she rest in peace in the arms of our Heavenly Father, as the angel we all know & love.
Immediately following the visitation and service, all are welcome to a Celebration of Life reception at the home of Kyle Steger and Carol Fairchild.
