Sandra Kay Alvarado
On July 18, 1962, Sandra Kay born to Ramon Galicia (deceased) and Nasaria Hernandez in Galveston, TX. She graduated from Ball High School with the class of 1982. She later attended Galveston College becoming a Unit Clerk at UTMB for many years.
She was baptized at an early age. Sandra was called peacefully home on January 24, 2018 at 9:30 am at MD Anderson Cancer Center surrounded by her loved ones. She was a loving girlfriend, a respected mother, a teaching Grandmother and a doting Great-Grandmother. She raised and help raise three generations and never shied away from lending a hand.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father Ramon Galicia. She is survived by a beloved and devoted boyfriend Ronald Rodriguez who was by her side throughout her illness. Also survived by her Mother and Stepfather Nasarah and Tony Hernandez. She leaves two Brothers, Raymond Galicia (Dolores) and Ronald and Rose Galicia. Three children Amanda and Aaron Brantley; two Sons Ronnie Alvarado (Amy) and Anthony and Arianne Alvarado. She leaves nine precious grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 3, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. Carnes Funeral Home located at 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City; TX. Pastor Samuel Alvarado will be officiating the service. Sandra was a passionate, joyful and always making someone smile in everything she did in life. She will be truly missed but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ronald Galicia, 4010 Cary Creek Baytown TX 77521 for the grandchildren. The family sends a special thank you to the staff of the 12th floor of MD Anderson Cancer Center. The family also appreciates Caroline Rodriguez, Jay and Amber Knoth for all the comfort they provided their mother her last week of her life.
