Rose Marie Bunyard Rode

Rose Rode

Rose Marie Bunyard Rode was born July 12, 1943, the youngest of three great women.  She received her angel wings on November 6, 2019.  Rose enjoyed going to the movies and listening to all kinds of music.  She loved to dance and joke with family and friends.  Rose always had a saying for every situation and never met a stranger.  Everyone that she met will always remember her for something wise that she said and her kind heart.

Rose worked as a Civilian Employee for the U.S. Government for 37 years.  She started her employment with Selective Service then moved to the Department of Transportation (Coast Guard) and retired from the Department of Defense (Maritime Reverse Fleet Beaumont) as a G12.  While working for the US Coast Guard, she was one of six employees recognized for Excellence in the Civilian Workforce from Elizabeth Dole, Chairman of the Department of Defense, in Washington, DC.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Felishia Rode Doucet and husband, Kevin, her son, Michael Rode and wife, Alisa.  She was Grannie to her seven grandchildren; Heather, Crystal, Ashley, Brandon, Colby, Trace and Landin and her four great-grandchildren; Jordan, Jaydin, Aden, Rylee and soon-to-be born great-grandson, Rowyn.  She is also survived by her sisters, Sarah Sloan and husband, Larry and Patsy Hammock and her husband, Robert.

Rose donated her body to UTMB Willed Body Program. She requested that there be no memorial service of any kind.

The family is forever grateful to everyone who loved and cared for Rose at Forever Young Home in Groves, Texas.
