Rose Marie Satterwhite

Rose Marie Satterwhite, 88, made her final trip to as she passed to Heaven on November 12, 2017. Rose Marie was born to William James Grady and Adeline DePuglio Grady on March 4, 1929 in Galveston, Texas. She is a graduate of Ball High School in Galveston. She moved to Texas City when she married Lyndell Satterwhite in 1949, where she lived until her death.

Rose Marie was a member of  St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Texas City. She had great devotion to Mary as well as her Catholic Faith.

She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority in her younger years and enjoyed getting together with her sorority sisters while she was active.

Rose Marie had a passion for travel and painting. She was a travel agent and traveled the world, even making a pilgrimage to Medjugorje.

Her first love was Hawaii, especially the island of Kauai and Poipu Beach and a special beach on Waikiki. She went there several times with her sister, friends and even alone. She was very proud of the plumeria trees growing in her yard that are products of cuttings she brought home from Kauai. She even had a special vase to show off the blossoms.

Rose Marie was an accomplished and talented amateur artist. Among her paintings were many watercolors of Hawaiian scenes.  She always had the spirit of Aloha and it showed in her paintings.  Her home was filled with her artwork, both oils and watercolors. Birthday cards to family were always home made and had a painting of something special to the person receiving it.
