Ronald Perry Smith, aka “Ron”, 45, a born resident of Texas City, Texas died on Monday, February 16, 2015. Ronnie was born on July 10, 1969 to Emma and Kenneth Smith Sr.
He married Debra Jean Hodges on September 5, 1987 in Santa Fe, TX, the love of his life. Together they made their home in Texas City, TX. A devoted husband and Dad, Ronnie cherished every moment he spent with his family and he always put their needs first. He attended Texas City High School and worked many years as a boiler maker supervisor in the Texas City Refineries. He loved his work and his family. He served as a Master Mason for over 12 years and was a member to the Grand Lodge of Texas, A.F. & A.M., Texas City No. 1118. Ronnie was a people person and had the ability to make friends with everybody. He enjoyed dancing, singing karaoke, and good times with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by parents, Emma and Kenneth Smith Sr.; mother and father in law, Vic and Geneva Brown and brother in law, Larry Hodges; and sister-in-law, Neve Jones.
He is survived by wife, Debra Smith; daughter, Misty Price and husband Jamie; sons, Jason White and wife Sherie, and Brandon White; brothers, Wayne Lilienstern and wife Lori, Stephen Smith and wife Diana, and Kenneth Smith Jr.; sister in laws, Laverne Dover, and Ruth Hocutt and husband Elton; brother in law, Gerald Hodges Sr. and Debbie; grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Stormy, Shane, Jeffery, Bobby, Jonathan, Sadie, Cheynne, Cameron, Justin, Cierra, and Jayden; 8 great grandchildren; close friends, Hobie Dover and wife Janice, Doug Gilley, and Darrin Boatman; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers.
Visitation is from 5:00 – 6:30pm with Funeral Services to follow at 6:30pm on Friday, February, 20, 2015, at Carnes Funeral Home – Texas City, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591.
