Rodney Walsh, was born May 28, 1954, in Houston, Texas, to the family of Theodis Hafid El-Amin Walsh, and Dorothy Vessel Walsh. Rodney was raised in Houston, Texas, and he graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School with the Class of '71.
Rodney was always out-going, and usually the life-of-the-party. He worked in the insurance industry, and he was a drug counselor in the Greater Houston Area. Rodney also lived in California during the late 80's and early 90's where he worked for UCLA, and he enjoyed playing the saxophone.
Rodney passed away March 4, 2014 in Tennessee Colony, Texas while on Hospice Care. Surviving to cherish his memories are his parents; Theodis Hafid El-Amin Walsh and Dorothy Vessel Walsh, his children; Kwabena Walsh, and Shah Walsh and their mother Linda Davis Thompson, Nakia Jelks and her mother Elizabeth Roy, grandchildren; Jarnae Jelks, Gianni Melvin, Brook Lynn Walsh, and Sasha Walsh, brothers; Reginald Rashad El-Amin Walsh, and Muhammed El-Amin, and sister; Aliyah El- Amin. He also leaves a variety of uncles, aunts, cousins, and a variety of friends. He will be missed by all.
The family will receive guests for visitation from 9AM until 11AM at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, Texas, Saturday, March 15, 2014. A Funeral Ceremony will begin at 11 AM Sharp, also at Carnes Funeral Home, Texas City. Apostle Chappel, as well as Ali Wakkiluddin with officiate the ceremony. Interment will follow immediately at Brookside Cemetery, in Houston, Texas.
