Robert Richmond Glenn
Major Robert R Glenn, Jr passed away on April 14th at home. He was 87. Maj. Glenn is survived by his wife of 66 years Sarah E. Glenn, his sons Robert III, John and his daughter Lucy Glenn. He is also survived by his dog, Sonny. Mr. Glenn was born in Missouri in 1929 the son of Robert and Elsie Glenn. Bob’s father was also in the service and like so many service kids, he travelled the country .
Bob served 22 years in the Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict and flying B-52s in the Vietnam War. Following retirement from the Air Force and working for Lockheed, Bob went into the tug and towing industry working for his friend building barges and tug boats.
Bob was creative and had many interests. He worked with Special Friends, a hippotherapy group, he travelled all over the world, he was a voracious reader and his love for cooking inspired him to start an online jam/jelly/spice, Glenbar. Bob was also very interested in family history and has collected records and written extensively on the subject, both nonfiction and historical fiction so that others may continue the to enjoy and explore the history.
Bob is remembered fondly for his unusual cooking inspirations, generous spirit, gregariousness, love of adventure and living on the edge of disaster.
