Robert Henderson Sr.

Robert Martin Henderson went home to the Lord on March 28, 2016. He was born on January 1, 1933 in Galveston, Texas, the second youngest of nine children born to Eula Henderson (Chargois) and Littleton P. Henderson. The family resided at 3928 Ave. I. Robert graduated from Central High School in Galveston. He later met and married Barbara Jean Henderson and they had four children. Robert served in the United States Army Reserves and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a parishioner at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque, Texas. Robert retired from Amoco Oil in Texas City, Texas after twenty-seven years of service.

He is preceded in death by parents; son, Robert M. Henderson, Jr.; siblings, Howard Henderson, Rose Mae Beavers, Lillian Babin (Wilson), Helen Brown (Leon), Eula McClain (Arthur B.), Louise Henderson and Marian Taylor (Robert).

To cherish his memory, he leaves his children, Phyllis M. Clark (Joseph, Jr), Christopher Patrick Henderson (Polly), and Stephanie Dione Petersen (Randy); brothers, Littleton Henderson, Jr. (Toni) (deceased), and Walter Louis Henderson (Jean); grandchildren, Tomica Henderson, Robert Guillory (Marcella), Kristin Clark, Joseph Clark, III, Ian Henderson, James Petersen, Christina and Christopher Petersen as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and cousins. 

Serving as Pallbearers are Robert Guillory, Joe Clark Jr., Joseph Clark III, Ian Henderson, Randy Henderson and Tim Parker. Honorary Pallbearers are Steven Henderson, Henry Maddox, Littleton (Scotty) Henderson IV and Emile     Johnson.

Guests are invited to share in the Celebration of Life Visitation for Robert from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., with a 6:00 p.m. Reciting of the Rosary on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Carnes Funeral Home -Texas City, 3100 Gulf Freeway 77591. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated 10:00 am, Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque with Rite of Committal to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston, Texas.
