Robert Arthur Taylor Sr.
Born June 30th, 1954 in Edinburg, Indiana, Bob grew up as the youngest of four children. Mom, "Byrd" as she was known, raised a wiley and rascally "Little Bobby" along side his sisters, Jerri-Sue and Wilma and brother, Larry Dale among a large contingent of Barker aunts, uncles and cousins before moving them south to Texas in the 1960's.
In Seabrook, Texas, a 16 year old, Bob met the love of his life and future wife, Pamela Duckworth and together raised their five children, Starr, Robert Jr., Chris, Rachel and Amy until Pam lost her battle to cancer at the age of thirty-one. Despite this loss, he kept his young family together as they struggled through hard times, tribulations and a lot of burned pot pies. Later in life he married, Andrea Mathews and together had their son, Sean.
Though a pipefitter by trade Bob's passion was antiquing and he loved to wake up early and hit the garage sales early looking for the hidden gem - be it the haggle or purchase.
To him - his crowning achievement is his children. Despite loss, despite difficulties, despite illness and the things life hurled at them - he could sit back and look at his children and grandchildren with pride and amazement at all they had accomplished.
Bob always said he looked forward to the day he could go home to heaven and meet again with Pam and his mother and on Monday, August 11th, 2014 he saw them again. He leaves behind his six children, fourteen grandchildren, his siblings and a whole slew of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and people who hold him dear. He will be missed.
