Richard Anthony Williams
Richard Anthony Williams was born June 22, 1970 in Pasadena, Texas to Richard and Judith Williams. Rick lost his battle with heart disease on October 18, 2014 in St. Petersburg, Florida surrounded by people he loved.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Havens, and grandparents, Henry and Ellen Williams and Delbert Griffith.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Judith Williams; grandmother, Ola Griffith; uncles, B.J. Raley, James Griffith, andStephen Griffith; aunt, Paula Griffith; nephew, Christopher Havens; nieces, Racheal Peterson and Kaitlyn Havens; cousins, Stephen E. Griffith and James D. Griffith as well as a large extended family in Texas. He leaves behind in Florida his girlfriend, Cathy Dupont and her family and his ward, Jasmine Tracy and her baby, Emiline.
Rick never met a stranger and everyone he met instantly loved him and became his friend. He had a charming and charismatic personality and could carry on a conversation on almost any topic. He was an avid reader and prized his library greatly.
He moved to Florida five and a half years ago to be closer to his girlfriend, Cathy Dupont. Shortly after that he became the guardian of Jasmine Tracey who he looked upon as his “adopted” daughter. When Jasmine had Emma he become a doting “Grandpa” and could talk for hours about all the precious things she said and did. His “girls” were the light of his life and gave him great joy in his final weeks.
His kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Guests are invited to share in the Celebration of Life Visitation for Mr. Richard Anthony Williams from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 28th, 2014 at Carnes Funeral Home -Texas City, TX, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, Texas 77591 with a 6:00 p.m. Memorial Services to follow.
