Rebecca ‘Becky’ Lynn Liggett was born in Houston, Texas on August 19, 1952.  She passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the age of 63 surrounded by family at her home in Deer Park, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her father, James Paul Holden, her mother, Betty Jean Holden and her brother, Charles Ray Holden.

Becky is survived by her husband, David ‘Buck’ Liggett, Sr. of Deer Park, Texas;  son David Liggett, Jr. and his wife, Debra Liggett of La Porte, Texas and their children Brody and Keira;  son Steven Liggett and his wife Amy Liggett of Pearland, Texas and their children Grayson and Savannah; daughter Dana Valdez and her husband Anthony Valdez of Deer Park, Texas and their children Marissa Thompson and her husband Christopher Thompson and their two children, Gabriella Liggett, Raul Aviles, Matthew Aviles, Damion Valdez, Nathan Valdez and Mark Valdez, Jr..  She is survived by brothers Frances Holden, James Paul Holden Jr., Harry Michael Holden, Neal Holden, Murray Holden, Clark Holden and sister Lillian Covernale and their families.

Becky enjoyed computer games, word puzzles and on occasion casinos. She was known to always put others before herself.  But she will most be remembered for her passionate love for her family. She ran a strict house that she filled with great love.  Her guidance taught her children and grandchildren how to live life to the fullest and always take care of each other. When asked, her husband said he would need a whole book to describe the blessing she was to him, that she made him a better man.  She told him in the end that she would be waiting for him.  She was a blessing to all who knew her and will be missed and remembered dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at Carnes Funeral Home in South Houston, 1102 Indiana Street, 77587.  A public visitation will be held August 23, 2016 from 11:00am until 12:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 12:00pm. Graveside rites and burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Houston.  Pallbearers are David Liggett, Jr., Steven Liggett, Anthony Valdez, Neal Holden, James Paul Holden, Jr., and Frank Covernale, Sr.
