Ranae Ornelas, 36, ascended to Heaven from this earth to be with our Almighty and Heavenly Father on December 11, 2017. Ranae was born on November 8, 1981 in Galveston, TX to Rachel and Rego Ornelas, Sr. Ranae was a lifelong resident of Texas City, TX and in his youth played football for the Texas City Rebels.
Ranae is survived by his beloved parents; stepfather, Jose Castillo; brother, Rego Ornelas, Jr.; sisters, Reva Gomez (Eddie, Sr.), Raquel Ornelas, Reyna Joseph (Tony) and Reianna Cisneros (Xavier), all from Texas City, TX. Ranae also leaves behind 17 loved nieces and nephews.
Ranae loved his family and if he called you a friend, he loved you like family. He was a protector to ANYONE he loved especially his parents and six siblings.
Ranae was preceded in death by his baby brother, Roy, who passed just months prior and his laughter and heart was to never be the same. Ranae went home to be with him. He truly was his brother’s keeper. He will be greatly missed by those who truly knew him. To know him was to love him.
Ranae loved to tell stories and it was simply in his nature to make you laugh if you were in his presence. His laughter, smile and especially the acting of his characters in his stories was displayed with such enthusiasm and detail. His love for his nieces and nephews was a bond unlike most. He loved all of them and he will always and forever live in our hearts.
There will be a public visitation on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 5:00 pm and a service to celebrate his life on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at noon. Both events will be held at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591. 409-986-9900. Interment will immediately follow at LaMarque City Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the funeral home.
