Patricia Ann Glover began her earthly journey on May 31, 1952 in Galveston, Texas; she was born to L.W.and Gladys Jones. She was introduced to Christ at a youthful age and she accepted Jesus the Christ as her Lord and Saviour at her family’s Church, where she was also baptized. During her adult years she united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Mount Belvieu, Texas. She was a member of the Usher Board, where she served faithfully. Keeping with her church covenant and desiring a closer walk with the Lord she worshipped at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, LaPorte, Texas.
Patricia was educated in the public schools of Baytown and she later graduated from the College of the Mainland. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Carry Jordan Glover on July 10, 1969. They remained as one until God called him home. She equipped herself with the necessary tools to enter the work arena. She gave valuable service as an employee with the City of Baytown. She was a diligent Bus Driver with La Marque Independent School District. Patricia left the work arena to open her home up for children in need, being a foster parent brought so much joy into her life. Patricia quickly established her roots as a “Foster Mother” and taking on the motto “The high calling of caring” which became a way of life for her. She never turned away a child; whether it came through an agency or by referral of a neighbor or friend. She never wanted any child to be without someone to love them and nurture them. She did this for decades before retiring.
Patricia cherished spending time with her family and friends. She had a big heart and anyone who truly knew her had to love her. She always had a big smile and warm hugs for everyone she met. If you were feeling down, she would make you laugh. If you were happy, she would celebrate your happiness right along with you. She always had a listening ear and encouraging words for anyone in need. She loved fishing and bingo. Patricia was a strong woman who overcame many obstacles in her life. She drew her strength from God’s Holy Word. She knew no matter what she faced in life; God was on her side. Her beautiful and radiant spirit will live on in the hearts of all that loved her.
