Patricia "Tricia" Samuels Lewis was born May 5, 1955 in Galveston, TX.

She attended Mrs. Anderson's Kindergarten, Booker T Washington Elementary and graduated from Texas City High School.  Tricia married her childhood Beau, Wilbur Lewis, Sr., and they remained together until her death on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at St John's Hospital in Nassau Bay, TX.

Tricia loved to shop.  She liked to buy everything but her favorite was shoes.  She would say, "you never have too many pair, you need at least one more."  She loved music, a cool drink, her family and friends to the greatest degree. Tricia spent many hours with her mother, Guyee, and her aunt, Evelyn "Fatty" Williams.  Everyone had to enjoy themselves when she around. She and Wilbur opened Club 2000 and she greeted every customer, every night with a smile. She worked for Texas City School District and retired from College of the Mainland.  Later she loved being Mama and Grandma.  Tricia remained a vital part of her community and keep in touch with her lifelong friends.  She was a member at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Maxey. She was also was a founding member of Texas City Black Alumni Association.

Tricia is preceded in death by her grandparents, Daniel and Vertis Samuels; other family members Evelyn "Fatty" Williams, Zeltee "Jack" Samuels, Robert Lynn Samuels, and Johnny "Cuz" Samuels.  She is survived by her wonderful and loving husband, Wilbur Lewis, Sr.; her sons and their families: Rahsaan Samuels, companion, Nikki and daughter, Journi Samuels; Wilbur Lewis, Jr. "Toki", companion, Kristen and children Sanaa Lewis and Ja Marcus Smith; Mother, Gladys “Guyee” Jenkins; sister, Anthieana Scott Jenkins; brother, Charles Robinson; Mother in Law, Flonnie Lewis and many other relatives and friends. Extended family, Melvin Young Lewis, Flonnetta Brooks, Bobbie Jackson, Jason Moses, Dominique (Cheryl) Amey, Keshia Lewis, and Sasha Rippenburger; aunt and uncles, Lonie Mae Samuels, OC Joe Samuels, and George Willie Owens There are special cousins, Houston Williams, John Lynn (Brenda) Samuels;  friends and lifelong companions, Barbara Anders, Sandra Woodkins, Glenda Lewis, Connie Grimes, Judy Williams, Lisa Day, Dorthea Jones and many other kindergarten classmates and friends. 

Friends and family will meet at Carnes Funeral Home Friday, July 18, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. to Celebrate Her Life. The Church services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church 401 Third Avenue North Texas City, TX 77590.  Pastor Robert Maxey will conduct the services.  Tricia will be laid to rest in the Houston National Cemetery on Monday July 21, 2014 at 1:15 PM in Houston, TX.   Condolences may be sent to Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City, TX 77591.  Dorthea Lewis Jones is the family Funeral Director.
