Oscar Paz

Oscar Ray Paz was born in Sinton, Texas on July 31st, 1953 to parents, Lionel and Eva Saldana Paz. He passed away at the age of sixty in Lake Jackson, Texas on October 24th, 2013.

Oscar graduated high school in Victoria, Texas in 1972 with a scholarship to play college football. He made the decision to join the United States Marine Corp. Oscar served his country in Desert Storm and retired after twenty plus years of active service with an Honorable Discharge. After  retiring, Oscar went to Las Vegas where he worked as a photographer    before coming back to Texas. Oscar stayed most of his years with cousin, John Villarreal.

He spent lots of days with family, friends and neighbor, Robert Shaw. They bar-b-qued all the time and shared the days and nights filled with laughter and the late night calls to family and friends.. Oscar had a way with people and impacted the many lives he came across with his kind heart and his raunchy humor. Everyone knew that being around him, they were guaranteed a laugh. He loved his son and all of his family. Oscar often went out of his way to make sure everyone was taken care of.

He is preceded in death by parents and brother, Roy Paz.

Oscar is survived by children, Matthew Paz, Antonina Ahumada and Dominic Ortega; grandkids, Monica Ahumada and Nick Torres of San Diego, Ca.; brothers and sisters, Yolanda Paz, Pat Amaro, Lionel Paz, and Ricky Paz of Texas; nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
