Ms. Alberta Mae "Baby Sister" Callis
Alberta Mae "Baby-Sister" Callis, was born November 22, 1956, in Galveston Texas to Willie Mae and Andrew Callis, Sr. who have both preceded her in death.
Alberta spent her whole life in the Galveston County Area. She was raised in Hunter's Chapel Baptist Church in Texas City, Texas, and eventually joined Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church, in Hitchcock, Texas. Alberta was known for her proficient bookkeeping skills, she was employed by Moody National Bank of Galveston for 16 years, Texas First Bank of Texas City for 5 Years, and lastly Galveston County, pre trial release division as well as Ricky Taylor's Kids Enterprise in Texas City, Texas.
Alberta passed away at Mainland Medical Center, in Texas City, Texas, May 11, 2013. Awaiting her arrival in heaven, were her parents, Willie Mae and Andrew Callis, Sr., her brother, Morris Ray Callis, her sister, Joyce Myers, uncle, O'Neal Green, as well as her grand-daughter Emani Callis.
Surviving to cherish her memories are her two sons; Agie Andre Callis (Ashlie), and Eric Dwayne Callis, sister, Leola Dennis, two brothers; Andrew Callis, Jr. (Diane), and Michael Callis (Debra), sister-in-law, Faye Callis, three grandsons; Agie Andre Callis, Jr., Eric Callis, and Erron Callis, devoted neices Shikera Holmes (Jimmy), and Monica Callis, devoted friend of over 40 years, Lillie Henderson, devoted friends, Myrtle Johnson, and Harry "Tiny" Kerlegan, Father of Agie and devoted friend, Alfred Shannon, two nephews Dekoven Myers and Marcus Callis, and cousins Ollie Visor and Nathalia White.
The family will receive guest for a wake service at Carnes Funeral Home, Friday May 17, 2013 from 5PM until 9pm. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday morning May 18, 2013 at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church, in Hitchcock, Texas, Reverend William L. Randle will officiate the services.
