Michelle Davis Grindberg
Michele Davis Grindberg, 57, passed away on September 16, 2017 in Galveston, Texas. Michele was born on June 5, 1960 and raised in Hamburg, Germany. She finished school with a German “Abitur” at gymnasium am Ohmoor in 1980. Michele went on to study fashion design in Hamburg, and worked as a fashion and jewelry designer and buyer in Frankfurt, Germany. Around 1991, she moved to Nuremberg, Germany and opened a small fitness center, Atemlos, with her first common law husband, Tom Heidecker. Tom and Michele were together for 18 years and they remained close friends.
Michele moved to the states where she met her second husband, Rick Davis, of Dallas. Rick passed away, leaving Michele a widower. In 2005, Michele met her current husband, Matthew Grindberg, at a local sandwich shop where they fell in love instantly. They were married in August 7, 2005 in Surfside, Texas. Matt and Michele owned several businesses together including a slushie for kids, a margarita machine rental business, and an art gallery, Mi-Art.
Michele was preceded in death by her mother Alice and her previous husband, Rick Davis. Michele is survived by Matthew her husband,
dad Rolf Gantke, her aunt Antje, niece Kiley, and cousin Michelle, and many other friends and family including Tom, Rikki, and Slater.
Funeral Services for Michele will be held on Saturday, September 30th Christ Chapel Church, 402 18th Street, Galveston, TX 77550 at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you send a donation in Michele’s name to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
