Michael Lawrence Ladd
Michael (Mike) Lawrence Ladd passed away unexpectedly at his residence in La Marque Thursday, February 21st. He was born in Jefferson City, MO August 1, 1950. Mike will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He was an avid fisherman and loved sharing his knowledge of boating and fishing with others. Mike loved his family and friends with his huge heart of gold. He never thought twice about lending a helping hand. Regardless of the task, whether it be fixing a flat or helping with a move; Mike was always there when you needed him with open arms and a big smile. Heaven must have needed our beloved “handy man.”
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Lee Ladd; step-father, Paul Galli; father and mother-in-law, Walter and Edith Warren, and sister-in-law, “Little Sister,” Frances Warren.
He is survived by the love of his life, wife of forty-one years, Fairy Warren Ladd, and treasured children, son, Paul James-Day Ladd and fiancée Kalie Bynum and daughter, Kellie Elaine Ladd. Mike is also survived by mother, Frances Galli; brothers, Jesse Ladd (Lloydell), Jerry Ladd (Barbara); sister-in-laws, Nancy Keleman (Darrell), Laura Johnson, Augustine Janner (Mark); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many good friends.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Ladd Sr., Jesse Ladd Jr., James Keleman, Darrell Keleman Jr., Chris Keleman, Marvin Hoff, Ron Digby, and Brian Wells. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Ladd and Darrell Keleman Sr.
The family will be accepting visitors from 5:00pm-7:00pm Tuesday, February 26th,at Carnes Funeral Home-Texas City, located at 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591, with a Rosary Service immediately following. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11:00am, Wednesday, February 27th, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque, TX with Interment to follow at Hayes-Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX.
