 Matthew Gavin Kearns

Matt was born on April 9th 1991 in Hartlepool, England.  He lived in Seabrook, Texas for six years. He was taken away suddenly on Saturday 23rd April 2011 in Clear Lake Texas at the young and tender age of 20.

Matt is survived in Texas by his younger brother Alex, Parents Michelle and Peter.  He was survived in England by his Grandmother Olive, Aunt Karen, Uncles Shaun & Philip; Cousins Jacob, Scott, Sian & Katie; Great Aunt Violet.  He was also grandson of the late Bob Close and the late Sylvia Bailey.

Matt attended Clear Lake High School here in Texas and St Martyrs comprehensive and Sacred Heart schools in Hartlepool and he leaves behind so many wonderful people from his school days.

Matt’s passion was football (soccer) and music.  He was a fabulous goal scoring number 9 for Clear Lake High school and his club team at Space Center.

He loved his music and was well known as “MK From Da UK” to his many fans and friends.  His favorite team was Liverpool from the UK but he was also a proud “Poolie”

Matt loved life and was a people person.  He was happiest in the company of his friends.  So full of life and always the first person to jump in to lend a helping hand to someone in need, he never met a stranger, could talk to anyone, and was forgotten by no one.  Matt was truly loved by everyone.  Matt was everyone’s best friend.

Anyone wanting to celebrate Matt’s short yet wonderful life can come along to Carnes Funeral home on Saturday 30th of April.  The service will begin around 6pm.  Please dress casually, nothing formal.

Donations in lieu of flowers to the family – details will follow.
