Mary Louise Neas
Mary Louise Strain Neas, 86, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2016.
Mary was born July 27, 1930 in Galveston, Texas, to parents, Julius L. Strain and Margaret E. Taeger, and lived in Galveston during her youth. She later resided in Hitchcock and LaMarque.
Mary worked at the telephone company and at JC Penneys. She loved crafts, especially crocheting everything from rugs to doll’s clothing for her loved ones and for charity events.
She enjoyed making gift bags of goodies for all the great grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping and fishing, and working in the yard tending to her beautiful flower garden.
Mary is preceded in death by parents, Julius L. Strain and Margaret E.Taeger; husband, Kenneth Neas; daughter, Judy K. Neas, and brother, Kurt Taeger.
She is survived by partner and best friend, Milton Graugnard, and his family, Mamie Ormand, Nora Leigh and John Walker, Susie Roque, Cathy Graugnard and Debra Graugnard, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by cousins, Betty (Strain) Barron, Shirley Emiliani, Linda Bruce, Karen Strain, Danny Strain, Janeva Hennig, Joe Strain, and Patricia Williams, and sister-in-law, Cathy Neas.
Visitation will be held at 10am on Monday, October 3rd at Carnes Funeral Home-Texas City with 11am Funeral Services, officiated by Pastor C. O. Magee. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Ormand, Richard Roque, Michael Chisum, and Nicholas Roque. Honorary pallbearers will be Miles Graugnard and Allen Barron.
