Mary Cristina Nava

Mary Nava

Mary Cristina Nava, sixty-seven, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday October 30th, 2016. Mary was born in Galveston, Texas to Tomasa and Lucio Nava on November 16th, 1948. She graduated from Ball High School in 1967. Mary found employment at University of Texas Medical Branch in Pedi Radiology where she retired after thirty-one years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church as a young child until she moved from Galveston in 2008.

Mary is preceded in death by parents, Tomasa and Lucio Nava, and brothers, Ben and John Nava

Mary is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Delfina and Rodney Scott; grandchildren, Elijah, Ebony, Alexis, Isaiah and Selina, and sisters, Blanca Nava Franklin and Audrey Nava Guillory; godchildren, Vincent Nava    Alvarado, Erica Ojeda Long as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

As a young adult Mary loved to go bowling and belonged to a League at Island Bowl in Galveston and would sometimes travel with friends for competitions. She also loved going to the movies. Her and her cousin,    Larry, went every time he was down from Corpus. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching basketball and football, working on crossword puzzles and relaxing at home. She liked the Texans but loved the Dallas Cowboys! She was a great mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter and friend. She loved all of her friends and family and never    forgot a birthday or anniversary of anyone. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.

We would like all our friends and family for all the calls and messages. That means the most and I know she is happy to know how many people loved her. If I never told my aunt, Belinda, and cousins, Tori, Alex and   Sarah...thank you. Before my mom came to live with me, you took care of both my mom and my grandmother. Even with everything going on with Uncle Johnny, it was never a question of her being there. Thank you so much!

Thank You Blanca for coming by to check on her at the house a few weeks ago. That meant the world to her.
