Marianne Alexis Sefcik, 66, of Galveston passed away at home on May 24, 2017. She was born on July 29, 1950 in Texas City, Texas to Henry and Lexie Sefcik. She was a 1968 Texas City High School graduate, worked for the U.S. Government in many departments, retiring from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 30 years dutiful service.
Marianne was born in Texas City but, moved to Galveston and made it her home for more than 40 years. Her first job, at Shriners Hospital for Children is what brought her to her beloved island. From those governmental positions, she ultimately returned to the Army Corps of Engineers, which she loved and stayed with them until retirement.
She had countless loves in her life but, greatest among them, was her family. She also had an immense love for the beach and the water. And of course, she had a big heart for all of her pets (Prince and Remington), who will miss her tremendously.
