Marvin Carter, Sr.
Marvin Carter, Sr.was born December 17, 1917 in Shiro, Texas. He was the son of Columbus and Mabel Carter and one of thirteen children.
Marvinattended several trade schools and mastered the technical skills of radio, television, and air conditioning. He ultimately became employed by Petro Tex Chemical Company and was a loyal employee for greater than 25 years.
Marvinfell in love with Versalene Carter and they were united in holy matrimony on October 17, 1946. Versalene went home to be with the Lord in 2009. To their union was born one child, Marvin Carter, Jr.
Marvin was a faithful member of North Main Church of God in Christ in Houston, Texas where he was an active member of the Deacon Board. Members of North Main viewed Marvin with high regards and a man who honored and served God.
Marvinleaves to cherish his memories his loving son Marvin Carter, Jr. and wife, Glynda Carter; two granddaughters, Tangula Taylor and Cydryce McMillian and their husbands, Vincent Taylor and Charles McMillian; four great grandchildren, Nicholas and Brandon Taylor, Mykayla and Isaiah McMillian; five brothers and one sister; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, and friends.
The family will received guest for a public viewing, Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 9 AM - 10AM at North Main Church of God In Christ, 7206 North Main St. Houston, TX. 77022. Rev. Willie Collins, will officiate the funeral service beginning at 10AM, also at North Main C.O.G.I.C. Interment will follow immediately at Paradise Cemetery North. Memorial can be sent to the funeral home.
