Martin S. Borrego III
Martin S. Borrego III, 63 of Galveston, TX went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, August 12, 2011 in Ponder, TX where he and his wife recently made their home.
He was born on June 9, 1948 in Elsa, TX to the late Martin P. Borrego Jr. and Antonia S. Borrego. He lived the majority of his life in Galveston, TX. He is a graduate of Ball High School, Southwestern University School of Business. Martin received an honorable discharge from the United States Army in 1969; he worked for ILA Locals 20 & 307 and for many years as an insurance agent for Prudential managing several finance companies in Galveston, TX. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church for many years where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. He loved going to see his grandson’s sporting events and his granddaughter’s games and theatre arts performances.
Martin is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Marie Salazar Borrego; son, Martin Borrego IV; daughter, Michelle Borrego Beach and son-in law, Robert Beach; grandchildren, Brendan Beach and Madison Beach; mother, Antonia S. Borrego; brothers, Roger Borrego, Freddy Borrego (Yvette), Roberto Borrego, and Tony Borrego; sisters, Sylvia Gonzalez (Freddy), Alice Martin, and Antonia Espinosa; uncle, Ramiro Borrego (Antonia); and many other relatives of whom he loved very much. He also leaves behind his loving pet companions Bella and Lexie.
Everyone that knew Martin, knew his favorite saying was, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”.
A Public Visitation will be held Monday, August 15, 2011 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service beginning at 7:00 PM. Both services will be held at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591. Memorials may be sent to the funeral home.
