Martin Guillory was born in Mallet, LA on March 17, 1941 to Sedonia Leday Guillory and Octave Guillory. He was the oldest son of eight children and was affectionately nicknamed “Nego”.
Martin worked at Union Carbide, via Local Union 116, for 34 years. He was a loyal employee and member of the union. Once he retired in June, 1996, it allowed him more time with family, grandchildren, and volunteering for Queen of Peace Church, and The Knights of Columbus, and visiting the sick. On February 3, 2015 Martin was called home to be re-united with his son, Stanley A. Guillory; his parents; and his siblings, Valentine Carrier and Marshall Guillory.
Martin Guillory leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Mary Rita Guillory; son, Kirk C. Guillory; daughter, Amanda Perrino, and husband, Laymon; 5 grandchildren: Kianta D. Guillory, Kintaria T. Perrino, Kloe D. Guillory, Trevian D. Perrino, and Sheiane A. Perrino. His Godchildren, Mary Bellow, Cary Carrier, Clayton Guillory, Jr. and Joel Victorian, along with his trusted companion, his grand-nephew Brian Bellow. Martin also leaves behind his devoted siblings, Marie Black, Martha Bellow, Rose Bellow, Clayton Guillory, Sr., and Raphael Guillory; his devoted sister-in-law, Margaret Guillory, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends that he cherished deeply.
A Public Visitation will be held Friday, February 6, 2015 beginning at 5:00 PM. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM both services will be held at Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City, TX 77591. Church Visitation will be Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 9:00 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at Queen of Peace Catholic Church 1200 Cedar La Marque, TX 77568. Martin will be Entombed at Mt Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, TX. Memorials may be sent to the Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Church Hall following the burial.
