Marlene Moberly Arellano, (age 84), passed away on May 18th, in Baytown, Texas. She was a long time resident of Houston and Harris County.
Born in Box Butte County, Nebraska, she was the eldest daughter of Floyd and Irene Moberly. The family relocated to Texas at the beginning of World War II to support the oil field supply business. She attended and graduated from Galena Park High School. She graduated from Lee College of Baytown in 1973, as a LVN (Vocational Nurse) and was employed at local hospitals and private duty nursing during her career. Marlene retired from nursing as a nutritional specialist from popular weight loss franchise.
Marlene along with her family was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Baytown, Texas. She supported the Boy Scouts of America for her son sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church. Marlene supported the Baytown Community Orchestra for her daughter at Lee College in Baytown. In addition, she enjoyed square dancing in Pasadena in her younger days. She will be remembered at Cedar Bayou Junior School’s Relay For Life team as a 29 year cancer survivor.
She is survived a sister Joan Parsons of Oak Wood, Texas, stepson John Lee and his wife Georgia Arellano of Houston, son James Arellano of Baytown, and daughter Betty Arellano of Baytown.  In addition, she is blessed with granddaughters Amie and her husband Brent Elliott of Dallas/Houston with Kelli and her husband Brett Holubeck of Houston. She celebrated a Happy Mother’s Day beside her great-grandchildren in love and silliness. Marlene was predeceased by her parents Floyd and Irene Moberly.
A memorial service for Marlene Arellano will be planned and announced to immediate family and friends in early September to commemorate her birthday and time with us.
