Mark Clinton Ashley
Mark Clinton Ashley, 76, was born on June 3, 1942, in Beaumont, Texas, to George and Helen Ashley. He passed away on April 24, 2019, in Pasadena, Texas.
Mark grew up in the Port Arthur/Groves area and was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur. In 1960 he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his Country proudly. His last duty assignment and major command in 1964 was with the 19th Civil Engineering Squadron. He served in the Air Force Reserve thereafter. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Mark attended beauty college and became a renowned hairdresser in the Clear Lake area, owning and operating several salons throughout his career, most notably Ashley’s Hair Designs located on the Kemah waterfront at The Watergate Yachting Center.
Known for his life-long love affair with The Rolling Stones, rock and roll music, muscle cars, Mexican food, animals and gardening, Mark will best be remembered for his great sense of humor and love of laughter.
Those who will cherish his memory are his beloved children: Bunny Wimberly (Billy) of Beaumont, Clint Dearborn of Houston, Katy Ashley of Houston, and Clinton Ashley of Georgia; two granddaughters: Tiffanye DuBose (Kyle) of Beaumont and Jillian Wimberly of Washington; two great granddaughters; his loyal dog Sami; as well as his loving friends who will forever consider him family.
A celebration of life and military burial will be held at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at 10:30 a.m.
