Marie E. Forde
Forde, Marie E. (Donahue), age 79, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of Uphill Avenue, Warwick. She died on Friday, January 20, in the Bay Area Regional Medical Center in Webster, Texas. She was the wife of the late John J. Forde. They were married for 51 years.
Born in Providence, the daughter of the late John V. and Bernice (Dupre) Donahue, she was a resident of Warwick for 50 years before moving to Houston, Texas in 2014 to live near her daughter, Karen Couch. She was a graduate of St. Mary Academy Bay View in East Providence, and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital School of Nursing in North Providence.
Mrs. Forde was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 30 years, many of those years at Kent County Memorial Hospital in Warwick and Greenwich Bay Manor in East Greenwich.
Her family, friends and faith were the center of her life. She was a past communicant of Saints Rose and Clement Parish, Warwick, RI. She was also a volunteer of the Little Sisters of the Poor, and a member of the Red Hat Society.
She enjoyed traveling with her lifelong friends and luncheons with her former classmates.
She is survived by three sons and a daughter, Michael P. Forde of Coventry, Steven J. Forde of Warwick, Karen M. Couch of Houston, TX, and Daniel J. Forde of Tampa, FL; and eleven grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 4, at ___ a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited, and may visit on Friday, February 3, from 4-7 p.m. in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. www.barrettandcotter.com.
