Lorenzo Luna Sanchez, Jr.
Lorenzo L. Sanchez, Jr. was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, on April 26, 1937. He passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at the age of 80 years, in Santa Fe, Texas.
Lorenzo was a longtime resident of Santa Fe, Texas since April of 1981. He loved the sport of boxing, pruning pecan trees, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a crafty man with many talents. He was a welder by trade and then gained employment with Santa Fe ISD as a field house custodian. He had many friends that loved him very much. He was a humorous and kind-hearted man.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lydia Luna and his father, Lorenzo L. Sanchez, Sr., and many other relatives.
Lorenzo is survived by his wife, Gloria Torres Sanchez of Santa Fe, Texas; his daughter, Marisela Sanchez of Rosharon, Texas; his son Gabriel Sanchez and wife, Gina, of Clear Lake City, Texas; grandchildren, Gabriela Ayanna, Madeleine Lucinda and Julian Patrick Sanchez. He is also survived by several sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.
Lorenzo’s family will receive visitors on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 1-2pm in the chapel of Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City. A memorial service will follow at 2pm with Deacon John Carillo officiating.
