Loreene Elsie Debruhl, or “Mammie” as she was known, was born in Houston, Texas on April 29, 1924.  She passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 at the age of 90 years, in Baytown, Texas.  She was preceded in death by son, Jody Dale and daughter, Katherine Ann Warner.

Loreene is survived by her son, Hank Debruhl and wife Ruby of Baytown, TX; grandson, Shane Turpen of Baytown, Texas and granddaughter, Angela Turpen, also of Baytown, Texas; grandchildren Jazmine Nugent, Byrien Nugent, Kalynn Nugent, Giovanni Turpen and Swai Turpen, all of Baytown, Texas.

Loreene was a longtime resident of Baytown, Texas and a member of West Baker Baptist Church in Baytown, Texas.  She was an avid viewer and fan of the Houston Texans, Astros and Rockets.  She also had a passion for furniture:  everything from design to marketing and sales.  She spent nearly four decades dedicating herself to exceeding to the highest standards through honesty and hard work.  This resulted in Loreene being recognized with several honors in this industry. 

Above all, she cherished all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and wanted the best for their lives.  They were her heartbeat.  This includes all the children she helped raise who considered her a mother or grandmother.

We thank all of those individuals who touched Loreene’s life, day-by-day, hour-by-hour, giving their friendship, time and love.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, 77591 on Thursday, December 11, 2014. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
