Lola Ann Parker
Lola Ann Parker passed away on June 20, 2016 at the age of 76 in Victoria, Texas.
Lola was a strong, determined, and independent woman who was not afraid to conquer any job in a man’s world- especially when told that she could not do something. She stood up for what was right- for herself, her children, and others around her. Lola could teach herself to do anything by just reading a book about it. She was a little firecracker who renovated houses, made lace by hand, and travelled across the country to work on gas pipelines as a welder’s helper in her 50’s. Lola loved to go dancing in her snake skin high heels, gamble at bingo or the boats (she had the best luck!), and fish with anyone or by herself. She was a courageous and supportive mother and a fun and encouraging Grammy, whose children and grandchildren deeply love her for it. Lola will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
At her wish, Lola donated her body to the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston for study. She would have wanted anyone reading this to please consider donating your body for teaching purposes or consider donating life to others by signing up to be an organ donor.
Thank you to anyone who helped my mother during her life, was a friend to her, loved her, or cared for her in any way.
