Lloyd Samuel Marshall of Texas City, Texas – Age 70

After seeking and receiving forgiveness for all his transgressions, from God, family and friends, Mr. LloydSamuel Marshall transitioned over to a peaceful resting place.  Mr. Marshall worked in many industries, including the funeral home business. He made history in Galveston County as the first African American to become a retail manager with the Kmart Corporation.  He was well known as a laborer with the Texas City Refineries and was often assigned as a Foreman over many shut down sites. He will be remembered for his keen negotiation and persuasion skills, light up smile and tall body frame.  As a Booker T. Washington Alumni, he played football as a center.  Mr. Marshall is the last member of the notorious “Untouchables”. Mr. Marshall loved hosting and taking part in gatherings with family and friends with good food and dancing.  He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Samuel and Azalee Marshall, one sister, Rosalee Hardy, Aunt(s) and Uncle Ora lee and Andrew Mills and Ida Mae Mills Batiste.  Lloyd Marshall is survived by   three daughters – Muszetta (Clabe) Sharee, Yolanda (Gregory) Prier, and Freelander Little, one sister – Shirley Pointer Wilridge,  companion - Earline Williams, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a host of extended family and friends
