Linda Faye Thompson

Linda Thompson

Memories are etched in the minds of all who know and love Linda Faye Thompson. Her life’s chapters are multidimensional and rich…Linda Faye was a gift that was entrusted to Vivian Guy and Ennis Guy on December 26, 1956 in Pinesville, LA.  Linda delighted in being the “big sister” to her younger siblings. She was blessed to have Christian parents, therefore her early spiritual journey was nourished as she accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour and was baptized at Greater Bell Zion Baptist Church, under the Pastoral leadership of Pastor Z. Phillips.  Her primary education was obtained Louisiana. She completed her secondary education through La Marque High School.  After graduation, she attended Rust College in Mississippi and graduated from Galveston College as a Respiratory Therapist.

The high calling of caring became a way of life for Linda as she established her roots as a Home Health Professional. She was an exceptional caregiver and this was evident through her diligent service given daily. Her benevolent heart and quiet strength endeared her to many within our community. But as much as Linda gave to her career, she worked even harder being the Rock of the family. She delighted in being a dedicated mother, granny, sister, aunt, cousin and Godmother. Family was always foremost to her and she enjoyed cooking for her family. Her compassionate big heart nurtured those in need, as she served as a foster mother. Being concerned for her fellowman was another one of her beautiful qualities, if you were in need you could count on Linda helping.

But even in the joy Linda found in fulfilling all of her family roles, she was equally as passionate about being a faithful member at Redeeming Ministries Church under the Spiritual leadership of Bishop Roshawn Boone. She gave devout service as Director of the Culinary Ministry. Linda knew the power of prayer and she remained steadfast and unmovable with her commitment to her church, family and the families she served.

Linda’s sweet fragrance will always remain in the hearts of those she touched. Revelation 22:12 says, And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. On July 31, 2019 Linda bid this world adieu head to the Promise Land.  She is preceded in death by her beloved family, parents, Vivian Guy and Ennis Guy; children, Tamicia Thompson and        Tiffany Johnson; siblings, Jennelle Thompson, Patricia Jackson, Leroy Thompson and Michael Guy

Although she will be profoundly missed, she leaves in God’s care; loving and devoted children, Tikeshia Thompson Rollins (Anthony), Catrecia Daniels, Rochelle Boone (Roshawn), Alexander Thompson (Claudia), Shannon Thompson, Sophia Thompson, Gabrielle Thompson, Aiden Thompson, Madison Thompson and Crystal Johnson (Bonus Child); grandchildren, Da’Von Graves and Jayden Boone; siblings, Willie Mae Holt (Billy), Carolyn Caligone, Jeffery Guy, Kenneth Guy, Joyce Allen (Willie), Avis Morgan, Gaye Morgan and Irma Maxwell; Godchildren, Shelby Barb, Keishuna Johnson, Daryn Young and Melody Sowell; special friends, Sharon Barb, Paula Johnson and Yolanda Love McNeil; a  host of nieces, nephews, cousins,  extended family and friends.
